A newly-opened Alsager coffee shop and health hub is holding its first event this week.

Hub and Health opened just over a month ago and on Friday (13 February), a new monthly journalling circles event will take place at their premises.

'Writing with Purpose' founder Anna Woolliscroft has chosen the Crewe Road venue to launch a monthly Journalling Circle aimed at improving wellbeing.

The 60-minute sessions will offer a gentle, accessible space for people to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself through guided journalling.

The sessions, which will run on the second Friday of the month, are designed for anyone who feels overwhelmed, stretched, or simply needs time and space to think.

The circles will provide a calm, supportive environment where participants can explore their thoughts through structured journalling exercises, without pressure or expectation.

"Journalling creates space to slow down and listen to what's going on beneath the surface," says Anna. "It's not about fixing anything or doing it right, but giving yourself time and permission to reflect, which is something many of us rarely allow."

Each session explores a different monthly theme using gentle prompts, guided writing, and moments of quiet reflection. February's inaugural session will focus on self-compassion and inner kindness, inviting participants to explore how they speak to themselves and what support might look like in everyday life.

"We are so pleased to have Anna at Hub and Health," says Dev Alkins, co-founder, Hub and Health. "The service she can provide will prove to be incredibly beneficial and will perform an important role in the wellbeing of our local community.

"We are excited to be working with Anna in the future, so please keep an eye out for future sessions."

The journalling circles are suitable for both beginners and those with an existing journalling practice. All materials are provided, and spaces are limited to 12 participants to maintain a relaxed, intimate atmosphere.

The sessions will run on the second Friday of each month at 4 pm at Hub and Health, with plans to expand the circles to additional locations later in the year.
