The countdown is on to this year's Pride in Alsager and organisers are promising it will be bigger and better than ever.

This year's event takes place on Saturday (October 1st), starting with the parade which is followed by an afternoon of musical entertainment at Alsager Cricket Club.

The parade will once again be a dazzling array of rainbow colours, starting at 12 noon from Crewe Road near Alsager Spar and pass through the town centre.

And Alsager shops are being invited to do their bit as well, with a competition for the best dressed window.

The Pride committee will choose their favourite Pride-dressed- window on Friday afternoon and the winner will be announced on Saturday afternoon by Ruby Von Trappe.

There will be an afternoon of free entertainment from 1pm until 8pm sponsored by Pride Partners Alsager Social Club and Paradox Vapes.

The line-up of performers will include Double Denim, Hayley Elliott, PJ Taylor, Kyle Finn, Ginger Boy, Ted Blank and many others.

More than 20 stalls will be on hand offering glitter tattoos, crafts, jewellery, sweets and gifts.

A range of food will be available from Naomi Bakes, Groovin Gourmet and Kookies Ice Cream. The cricket club bar will also be open.

A range of charities will be hosting stalls to provide information and signpost sources of support including Body Positive a Cheshire based charity providing services for the LGBLT + community.

A Pride in Alsager spokesperson said: "This event is a celebration of LGBT+ identities and culture. Everyone is welcome to come and join us.

"There will be a Tombola with fabulous prizes such as vouchers and gifts donated by local businesses in Alsager.

"A name the bear competition will give participants the chance to win the beautiful "Love is Love" bear."
