The owner of an Alsager restaurant is swapping his chef's apron for running shoes when he heads off to raise money for charity in his first half marathon.

Brad Lancaster, from Caster's in Lawton Road, is running his first half marathon at Oulton Park on November 20th in aid of MIND.

Oulton Park is renowned for its motor racing events but on this date, runners will replace cars on the smooth traffic-free tarmac circuit.

The busy businessman thinks the mental health charity doesn't always get the support it needs and he hopes as many people as possible will support him.

"I have just eight weeks to get myself in shape for my first race," said Brad. "I plan this on being my first stepping stone towards my first marathon.

"It's an honour to run on behalf of MIND, the mental health charity, who I think do not get the support that is needed.

"Under the current circumstances and lifestyles people are living, it's only fair to offer our help where we can and between us all, we can make a change and get back to the normality of life.

"I hope you can all spare a few pounds in order to raise money for a great cause."

Brad has set up a JustGiving page which can be found here https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/brad-lancaster?utm_source=whatsapp&fbclid=IwAR3ZYOxXniY8ltN0uIdnjkpC3rUIWUatCyDIbY3-8f2FVB8tquTttBtxGO0

He hopes as many people are possible will donate to his half marathon. Alsager Nub News wishes Brad the best of luck with his training and the big day in two month's time.
