Alsager wildlife lovers enjoy the fruits of the area during nature walk

Nature lovers enjoyed another friendly stroll around the town with Alsager Urban Wildlife Initiative.

The group was set up about four years ago by Alsager resident Antony Cook who has now started monthly nature walks.

A group enjoyed a leisurely stroll looking at nature and wildlife in the town yesterday (Sunday) meeting at Milton Park and taking in Wood Park and woods behind it and the Community Orchard.

The aim of the walk is to help people understand the world around them in Alsager.

Antony said: "There's lots of different habitats to explore. The walks are a friendly stroll around the area taking in the nature.

"We focus on whatever we see at the time of year. Our next walk will take in different sights as we move into autumn. "

Those taking part in yesterday's walk saw a variety of flora and fauna as the town's wildlife gets ready for autumn.

Antony stopped along the way showing various things happening in the local area, including various berries which will provide food for birds during the winter.

Look out for details of the group's next walk which will be featured in Alsager Nub News.
