Would you like to learn new cookery skills this year? Alsager U3A has a new class.

Alsager U3A is urging anyone interested in joining any of their groups to come forward and take advantage of growing groups.

The new term started today (Monday) and Alsager U3A is also appealing for anyone to come forward who would like to become the group's new secretary.

Anyone taking up membership will also be able to take advantage of reduced membership fees of £5.

Two new activities have been launched - home cooking and sitting keep fit and organisers are keen to recruit new members.

Alsager U3A has nearly 1000 members and 54 group activities.

A spokesperson said: "Two new groups will start this month - home cooking and sitting keep fit.

"Our current secretary has continued, with help, but and an appeal is being made to anyone who feels they could take on this role.

"Please put yourself forward if you have the time and the skills. The U3A cannot have a committee without a secretary.

"We have a very active Monday morning at Alsager Civic Centre. There is a Help Desk where questions will be answered and individuals can become members.

"The outings desk offers day trips and holidays. The group activities, which take place in The Civic on Mondays, are card making, music appreciation and Talk Time.

"Tea and coffee are served from 10.45 am - 11.10 am. Talk Time starts at 11.15 am for an hour.

The first Talk Time session today was The Population Bomb by Keith Stevens.

Information of activities can be found on the website https://www.alsageru3a.org.uk or just Google Alsager U3A.

The chairman, Alan Bell, can be contacted at [email protected].
