Alsager Swimming club has been shortlisted in the Everybody 2023 awards.

The club, which meets at Alsager Leisure Centre in Hassall Road, has been nominated for the Diversity and Inclusion award.

The awards will take place at the prestigious Crewe Hall in Cheshire on Friday 13th October, hosted by the fantastic Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson.

Alsager Nub News told here how Poppy Maskill, a member of Alsager Swimming Club, narrowly missed out on a medal at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham August.

The talented swimmer came fourth in the final of the S14 200m Freestyle at the games.

Andrew Kolker, Chairman at Everybody Health and Leisure said: "The nominations we have received this year have showed excellent dedication, innovation and true community spirit.

"All the Cheshire East nominees have achieved great success and inspired others.

"We couldn't be more delighted to invite our shortlist to the awards evening this October and we can't wait to announce the winners on the night."
