Alsager & District U3A presents cheque to Twyford House Care Home

Members of Alsager & District U3A have handed over a cheque to Twyford House Care Home for £300.

The group, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, holds various clubs at the home from sitting keep fit to poetry.

Members of Alsager & District U3A attending the groups at the luxury care home in Richard Woodcock Way donate £1 each when attending.

The money has been collected up and presented to care home general manager, Lorna Murphy, for social activities and outings.

Lorna said: "I'd like to thank Alsager & District U3A for this generous donation and look forward to working with the group."

Alan Bell, chair of Alsager & District U3A and other members gathered at the Alsager home to hand over the cheque.

He said: "Our members enjoy coming to the groups here and we're delighted to hand over this money.

"Members decided to donate £1 when attending and we have saved up this money to present Twyford House."
