The MS Society Cheshire & North Staffordshire Group, for example, offers advice, social activities, and information about therapies that can help manage symptoms.

They run a group locally at The Sacred Orchard Pub in Nantwich, just off the Alvaston roundabout. The group meets on the 1st Wednesday of every month from 12pm onwards and is welcome to anyone affected by MS.

It is a way to connect with people in similar positions and an open space to talk about personal experiences with those who can relate.

Our local NHS services also provide specialist clinics, and many physiotherapists and exercise classes in the area adapt programmes to suit people with varying mobility needs.

If you or someone you know is living with MS, remember that small steps can help, pacing daily activities to conserve energy, using mobility aids when needed, and keeping active within personal limits.

Emotional wellbeing is just as important, joining local support groups, enjoying hobbies, and staying socially engaged can boost mood and resilience.
