Alsager set to 'go green' for its annual event to put ethical trade in the spotlight
By Deborah Bowyer 20th Feb 2026
Alsager is set to show how environmentally friendly it is once again at its annual event in the town when a variety of organisations will come together.
Alsager Fairtrade Group is holding their first ELF (Ethical, Local and Fairtrade) event for several years at Alsager Civic on Saturday, 7 March. Alsager was awarded Fairtrade town status in 2007.

Fair Trade originated to ensure that farmers in the developing world not only received a fair price for their produce but they also undertook not to use certain pesticides and to also use the premium paid to develop infrastructure in their areas.
It also includes the premise that child labour won't be used therefore the children can receive an education.
The event, which is free, takes place from 9.30 am until 12.30 noon and entry is free.
