By Deborah Bowyer 14th May 2026
Alsager Round Table, the group behind Alsager Carnival, is gearing up for what promises to be the biggest and best.
One of the central parts of the annual event, which this year takes place on Saturday, 6 June, is the parade of floats which finishes in Milton Park.
And there's a special treat ahead this year for community groups, sports groups, organisations and businesses taking part in the parade - there are prizes up for grabs for the first three places.
First place will receive £250, second place £150 and third place £100.
The theme for last year's event was popular TV childrens' shows which saw the streets of Alsager were awash with colour.
Alsager Community Theatre chose characters from 'Horrible Histories' including Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn and Queen Victoria.
Schools across the town and Corner House Nursery entered floats for the occasion, many carrying umbrellas to shield from the heavy rain.
Every year, the event raises hundreds of pounds for various groups and charities in the town.
The parade. as usual, will finish in Milton Park where a crowd gathered to take part in the afternoon's fun which included an array of stalls. There will be a Punch and Judy Show, dance presentations and a a tug of war.
