Alsager Rotary presidential handover - in spite of weather and Covid-19

The Alsager Rotary presidential 'baton' has now been handed over to me (Lynn Spooner) until the end of June 2022.

A long way off I know but as Kate Jepson and I agreed, it was in the club's best interest that we do eighteen months each due to the unusual circumstances that we found ourselves in at the end of March this year.

As you can see from the photos, we had a very strange handover with the chain of office now safely passed on to me (Covid-19 rules have been followed during the process).

The photos show just how ingenious we have to be to keep the wheels turning these days, our handover was in the snow at our Rotary sponsored Sensory Garden on New Years Eve.

A big thank you goes to president Kate for her work over the last year and a half - not an easy task as no previous Alsager Rotary president has ever experienced such an unprecedented time to carry out their duties.

Due to the present restrictions, it is difficult for me to organise my 'President's Hello', so my thoughts are that we could meet at the beginning of July 2021 (if all goes well) to share good food, conversation and chocolate cake.

Paul Heyes is going to be Presidential Elect and we are going to work closely together so that when he takes on the role, he will have all the necessary information to carry out this presidency effectively.
