Destitute children in Uganda are set to get a boost – thanks to organisers of an event in Alsager last night (Saturday).

Hope Uganda, a UK-based charity helping children in Uganda, organised an event at Wesley Place Church on Saturday (May 18th).

Biddulph Male Voice Choir performed a 'spring concert' to raise funds for the charity - which raised funds to help support destitute children at the Rainbow Hope Centre (RHC), Lukaya, Uganda

Laura Smith, one of the trustees of Hope Uganda said: "In about 2012 some members went out to Uganda and set it up.

"There are about 15 children aged between 10 years old and 20 at the centre and we provide education, healthcare, food and clothing.

"Our aim is to give them a better chance in life. They have so much potential and our work helps them to grow."

Hope Uganda, whose Facebook page is here organises all kinds of events including a comedy night held a comedy night in October as we revealed here

They also take part various events and fairs selling African craft items which will also be available on Saturday night.
