An Alsager pub is asking customers to either bring in or donate money for advent calendars for children.

The Linley Tavern has been in touch with Alsager and District Foodbank who say they are supporting more than 25 children.

A pub spokesperson said: "We thought it would be a lovely idea if we could ensure these children had an advent calendar to help with the magic of Christmas.

"If you can afford and would like to drop one off or make a donation so we can buy them we would be very grateful."

The last day to drop off or donate advent calendars is Monday, November 27th.
