Firefighters from Alsager and Crewe and the air ambulance attended a two-vehicle accident in Middlewich.

The accident happened in King Street, Middlewich on Wednesday (December 23rd) at around 2.04 pm.

A Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Two vehicles were involved in a collision leaving one casualty trapped.

"Firefighters removed the trailer that was attached to the affected vehicle to make space for them to use hydraulic equipment to release the casualty, who was given pain relief before being removed.

"Helimed attended, as did an ambulance and police and the casualty was transferred to hospital in the helicopter. "
