An Alsager coffee shop has become part of a council-wide scheme to help people with the cost-of-living crisis.

Cheshire East Council launched a 'Warm Places' scheme late last year to help people struggling.

'Warm PlaCEs' are spaces where people can go, free of charge, to spend time to keep warm if they are struggling to heat or keep their homes warm.

And Home Coffee & Studio in Lawton Road has announced it is registered with the scheme.

"With more cold weather forecast it seems a good moment to publicise our registration as one of Cheshire East's Warm PlaCEs," said architect, Alex Melhuish who owns Home Coffee & Studio with wife Nikki.

.

"This means anyone is free, with no obligations, to come and spend time at Home. As well as a warm welcome, we have board games, phone charging points and even free drinks to give away courtesy of our generous customers who have "bought ahead" beverages."

"Just pop in and take a seat. If anyone asks, just let us know that you need warming up and we'll discretely offer you one of our free drinks ."

The council invited voluntary, community and social enterprise groups to join the 'Warm PlaCEs' programme.

Businesses were also invited to register their interest in supporting the 'Warm PlaCEs' scheme.

A full list of places signed up for the scheme is available at https://www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/livewell/education-employment-and-money/money-matters/warm-places-keeping-cheshire-east-warm.aspx

Well done Home Coffee & Studio!
