Cheshire East Council has appointed its leader, deputy leader and the chairs and vice-chairs of its service committees and other standing committees.

The Annual Meeting of council saw the election of Councillor Sam Corcoran as leader of the council and Councillor Michael Gorman as deputy leader.

Under the committee system, introduced by the council in May 2021, decisions are made by committees, which are responsible for different areas of the authority's activities. The political make up of each committee reflects the political make-up of the council.

Members debate and vote on decisions, so decisions are made collectively by the cross-party membership.

A calendar of committee meetings and their respective agendas, once published, can be found on the council website.

Further information on each of the committees can be found on the council website via the links below: Committee structure | Cheshire East Council
