Alsager Asda's 'Aisle of Pink Festival' raises hundreds of pounds for breast cancer charity

Two women who work at Alsager's Asda have raised more than £400 for the Tickled Pink Breast Cancer' charity. thanks to their Aisle of Pink Festival.

Abi Winkle and former X Factor contestant and professional singer, Carol Teague, held the event recently at the Lawton Road store.

The duo, who often delight customers with their singing voices, have revealed they have raised an impressive £440.10 and now they're planning to hold another one next Spring.

Abi said: "We're delighted with how the day went and hope to have another one next spring. What an experience!"

Their 'Aisle of Pink Festival' featured games, live music and drinks and cakes. Shoppers were asked to make song requests with a donation.

"When we're working together on Fridays we'll often burst into song," said Abi previously. "We both love singing and thought it would be good to organise this event. Customers often video us."

Carol is no stranger to performing. She was on The X Factor alongside Olly Murs and Joe McElderry, and once sang at a birthday party for Princess Margaret.

Carol said previously: ""Not a shift goes by without me singing. I like the fact that I can be myself at work. It makes customers happy, and me happy."
