The installation of a zebra crossing on a busy Alsager road which was intended to be carried out during the February half-term period can now proceed following feedback from residents.

Cheshire East Council plans to install a zebra crossing on Crewe Road, near the junction with Cranberry Lane, using both section 106 money from the housing developments at Goss Place and from the Sustainable Modes of Transport to School fund.

After receiving comments from residents, Cheshire East can now commence installation once final costs have been approved and a new date has been agreed.

A spokesperson for Cheshire East Council told Nub News: "The council intended to install the crossing during the February half-term period, but this was dependent on the public's feedback to the siting of the crossing and the required waiting order.

"The council received some comments from residents, but it is now in a position to proceed with the installation once final costs have been approved and a new date is agreed for the work to be carried out."
