We only spoke to Alsager's answer to Strictly Come Dancing last month, and tomorrow the local Latin dance teacher will become a radio celebrity.

Cheshire's 'Mr Strictly' AKA professional dancer Mark Farrugia is hoping to pick up even more dance tips and share his expertise when he hot foots it onto national radio on Saturday morning.

He'll appear as a celebrity guest on this Saturday's BBC Radio 2 show with presenter Claudia Winkleman on Saturday November 6th.

It was only recently that we published an article telling of his Monday evening classes at Alsager Civic.

Since then the top dancer has appeared BBC Midlands Today in an uplifting TV news piece, and now he's set to make his biggest move yet on the airwaves.

The popular dance teacher, who travels all over Cheshire and Staffordshire with his weekly classes, has found his dance magic is now in the spotlight with bosses of Strictly Come Dancing, as Winkleman's show will promote the Saturday night programme.

Maltese-born Mark got an email from BBC Radio 2 recently asking if he wanted to be part of Claudia Winkleman's Strictly panel.

He thought it was a fake at first, but now will be making his debut on national radio this weekend with the former Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two presenter.

Mark has danced at professional level and set up his classes Strictly Latin Dance Fit/Fit steps due to his love of the legendary TV dance show.

He says he can't wait to talk to Claudia tomorrow and hear all about Strictly's latest news and gossip plus sharing some of his dance knowledge and opinions.

Mark said: "I'm incredibly excited about Saturday morning.

"She seems such a lovely person. I watch Strictly every Saturday night.

"I just love the show and it was that programme which led me to launch my classes.

"Everyone loves Strictly and dancing is such good fun.

"My students love coming to my classes. Classes are booming and it's just wonderful to see everyone having such a good time."

Mark is due to appear on national radio at 11.30am on Saturday November 6th and Alsager Nub News for one will be listening to hear what our famous dancer has to say.
