Jamie Brownfield & Liam Byrne with the Tom Kincaid Trio

On Thursday 22nd August, Alsager Golf & Country Club Jazz Society are thrilled to present a very special evening led by two of the UK's most popular frontmen: Jamie Brownfield & Liam Byrne.

Renowned for his vast repertoire, Brownfield is a true exponent of all the greatest traditions of the trumpet, spanning a diverse range of jazz from early New Orleans to Bebop. Brownfield's fresh, youthful approach is making a huge impact on the jazz scene. He has performed across the world, from New Orleans for Mardi Gras, to Bali, Indonesia and all over Europe. His last CD was featured on BBC Radio 2 by Jamie Cullum on his show.

Byrne has a reputation as a torchbearer of the tenor saxophone tradition, with a warm sound and understated approach inspired by the likes of Lester Young and Ben Webster. He has performed alongside an impressive roster of leading jazz musicians including Alan Barnes, Digby Fairweather, Scott Hamilton, Harry Allen and Rossano Sportieilo.

Joining Brownfield and Byrne on piano will be our good friend Tom Kincaid. With a sound that combines the effortless intricacy of Art Tatum's playing with the laid-back lyricism of Erroll Garner, Kincaid's swinging style and impeccable ear lead him to be one of Europe's most in-demand pianists. Kincaid has accompanied the likes of Elkie Brooks, Scott Hamilton, Art Themen, Alan Barnes, Bruce Adams and Roy Williams & even worked with Shakin' Stevens!

It starts at the golf club (ST7 2UR) at 8pm; all are welcome, £7 cash on the door with an optional raffle.
