LARAS STORY
Help Lara Fight Back After Stroke and Type 1 Diabetes Diagnosis
Lara was a happy, healthy 7-month-old baby—already standing, cruising along furniture, and beginning to say her first words. Everything about her future looked bright.
Then, without warning, Lara suddenly became unconscious.
Over the next three days, she suffered three near-fatal episodes. After an incredibly frightening and uncertain time, doctors diagnosed her with Type 1 diabetes.
But the challenges didn't stop there.
On day four, Lara suffered a devastating stroke. She was left in critical condition for two weeks, fighting for her life.
The stroke caused severe damage—leaving Lara fully paralysed on her right side. She lost her ability to walk, talk, and even eat or drink independently.
Now, at 22 months old, Lara requires round-the-clock care. Her diabetes must be managed 24/7, and due to the effects of the stroke, she is still fed through a feeding tube directly into her stomach.
Lara's journey is far from over.
She faces ongoing therapies, specialist care, and constant medical support to help her regain as much independence as possible and to manage her complex needs.
We are raising funds to support Lara and her family during this incredibly difficult time. Donations will help cover:
* Specialist medical care and therapies
* Equipment to support her daily needs
* Ongoing diabetes management
* Travel and associated medical costs
Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference in Lara's life.
Thank you for helping Lara continue her fight.
