Here is a round-up of Triton Hockey Club's weekend action:

Neston Men's 2s 3 Triton Men's 1s 2

Triton Men's 1s suffered disappointment in its first game on the road up on the Wirral. Triton set about the game effectively in the opening exchanges. Neston was pinned back inside its half, but no real opportunities were created.

Neston responded by taking the lead. A long through ball found a Neston forward free to carry the ball and flick passed keeper JP Dodd.

Triton quickly responded to restore parity. Will Turner attacked inside the Neston half before squaring neatly to Mikey Calam who drew his marker to play in Tom Chaddock to convert the rebound.

Moments later it should have got better for Triton when Tony Stevens beat his man but flicked the ball agonisingly wide of the post. It remained 1-1 at the break with Triton happy with their first half work.

At the start of the second half Neston gained the initiative and struck both the post and the crossbar before regaining the lead in controversial circumstances.

Alistair Currie's strong tackle was chested down by a Neston attacker before the ball was struck home. Triton heads did not go down as a result.

Chris Cooper found Kieran Puetz who skilfully released Chaddock on the right-hand side of the circle. Chaddock fired across the goal for Stevens to score a second equaliser.

At this stage, it looked like Triton would be the team to go on and win the match. However, a penalty corner late on was won and converted by Neston to take a 3-2 lead.

With Triton down to 9 men with two five-minute exclusions the visitors were not able to exert pressure on Neston until the final moments of the game.

Triton Ladies' 1s 0 Bowdon Ladies' 5s 3

The Ladies' 1s first home game also ended in disappointment. The returning Kate Fallon went closest for Triton in the second half hitting the outside of the post and Becky Shaw was denied from close range.

Vicki Bennion put in another excellent player of the match performance and the returning Hannah Ford marshalled the Triton defence well through out the game.

Triton Men's 2s 2 Alderley Edge Men's 4s 2

Following postponement of its opening game last weekend the Men's 2s began its Division 1 campaign with a battling draw at the Alsager Sports Hub.

The team had the lion's share of the possession early in the game but could not make its dominance count.

Alderley Edge punished Triton's wastefulness with its first two efforts on goal, both took wicked deflections to give keeper Oskar Lindblad no chance as the visitors took a 2-0 lead.

Triton fought back well with the returning Brad Thorley causing the Alderley defence lots of problems. Mike Fielding pulled a goal back for Triton from a penalty corner before Joss Berry scored a deserved equaliser to earn a deserved point.

Whitchurch Ladies' 3s 0 Triton Ladies' 2s 1

The Ladies' 2s put in a terrific performance away from home to secure its first points of the season. The first half was quite even but the impressive Lucy Salter scored to give Triton the lead.

The second half saw Triton dominate the game but were unable to add more goals to earn a more comfortable win.

Newcomer Gracie Sykes had a terrific game attacking the Whitchurch back line as too did Jackie Jones in defence to ensure Jenna Hulme had a quieter game in goal.

Triton Men's 3s 4 Stockport Bramhall Men's 3s 3

The Men's 3s again produced a game of high entertainment. The opening 20 minutes of the game saw Triton take the lead twice through a Michael Smissen brace. But each time the visitors pegged the score back.

In the second half Triton took control when Lee Wilson put the team in front for the third time. More chances game for the home team and Si Cruxton added its fourth goal from close range.

The Stockport keeper denied Wilson a second gaol with a terrific reaction save and Triton wasted more chances to put the game beyond doubt.

The visitors pulled a goal back from a penalty corner and there were chances to equalise late on only to be thwarted by a couple of smart saves by keeper George Jenkins.
