Alsager Town started the new North West Counties Football League campaign with a 3-0 home defeat to St Martins FC.

The visitors took the lead on the stroke of half-time and secured all three points with two second half goals.

The Bullets had two penalty shouts turned down in the closing stages of the first half and hit the bar and had a goal chalked off for offside in the second half.

Attendance at Wood Park was 105.

The Bullets will be hoping to bounce back against Ellesmere Rangers tomorrow (Tuesday) night.
