Alsager Nub News aims to support our community, promoting shops, businesses, charities, clubs and sports groups.

A town councillor has claimed that "Alsager deserves better" and highlighted that Cheshire East Council should have "at the very least" notified residents, who live on the surrounding Lodge Road streets about the implications the controversial active travel scheme would bring.
Nub News reported that councillors urged Cheshire East to listen to the growing number of objections submitted against the borough's active travel measure and to scrap the "experimental" scheme.

Firefighters had to place sandbags in affected areas to prevent further flooding at an Alsager property.
At 12:30pm today (Monday) firefighters attended a flooded house in Linley Lane, Alsager.
Students across all year groups at Alsager School participated in the mass annual celebration that encourages us all to enjoy, discover and share poetry.
Throughout National Poetry Day 2020 (1 October), teachers of all subjects shared their favourite poems with students and explored poems relevant to their subject, such as 'In Flanders Fields' in History, 'Romance de la Luna' in Spanish, 'Future Visions' in Science and 'Pi Poem' in Maths.

Alsager School's Year 11 students will stay at home today (Monday) after the school was informed of a positive Covid-19 case.
The school was notified yesterday (Sunday) evening of a positive coronavirus case in Year 11 and has taken advice and took the precautionary measure.

CHESHIRE East's revised blueprint for development has come under fire from Alsager Town councillors at the council's strategic planning meeting.
The Site Allocations and Development Policies Document (SADPD) lays out the second phase of the authority's local plan for the borough, and includes much of the detail on where development is aimed for.

United Utilities have repaired a sewer which caused a significant sinkhole problem in Alsager, but found difficulties in establishing what created the issue.
Cllr June Buckley, a ward councillor for Alsager, previously stated the town had been blighted by a problem with the roads deteriorating for months.
A new toy shop, which has a huge selection of memorabilia from some of the biggest film franchises, has opened its doors to the Alsager community for the first time today.
Bunty's, which can be found next to the post office in Lawton Road, Alsager, is located where the Chocolate Boutique used to be.
