Cheshire East residents have been urged to stick to lockdown rules or risk being plunged into further local restrictions over Christmas.
The authority's Labour leader Cllr Sam Corcoran, says the rise in infections across the region over the past few weeks needs to be tackled firmly to prevent the borough returning to a tiered system of controls after December 2.

Four roads in Alsager are set to be removed from Cheshire East's list of those to be gritted starting next winter.
Among the roads in Alsager that would no longer be gritted are Church Road, Hassall Road and Lodge Road, which are all in close proximity to Alsager School. Chancery Lane would also be removed.

A South Cheshire hospice is inviting families going big on their festive decorations to sign up to their appeal.
Fundraisers at St Luke's are calling on people to light up their homes and garden this Christmas to support the hospice.
Alsager Round Table has announced the timetable for this year's popular Santa's sleigh tour.
The festive news comes after the round table finished fitting the Christmas lights in the town centre over the weekend.

HIGHWAYS chiefs are warning motorists who think they can take liberties with their parking during lockdown they will be facing £70 fines.
Cheshire East Council is urging motorists to park legally and considerately after seeing a rise in illegal and irresponsible parking during the pandemic.
On Saturday, three hardy Rotarians dug numerous holes in the ground above the Sensory (Sunken) Garden in Milton Park and planted around 3,000 purple crocus corms.
The plants will hopefully flower in the park around the end of February 2021 and for the years to come afterwards.
