Crowds turned out to see Alsager's Christmas lights switch-on yesterday (Sunday).

The annual event was busier than ever before with stalls lining the streets and a fair the other side.

There will be over 80 market stalls indoor and outdoors and fairground rides throughout the town. Most shops were open and there was a Santa's grotto inside Alsager Civic.

It is organised by Alsager Christmas Events Committee, supported by Alsager Round Table, Alsager Town Council and many volunteers.

Crowds also went to see the annual Christmas Tree Festival at Wesley Place Church with an array of Christmas trees.
