A Staffordshire university student and fashionista has seen her dream come true - after launching her own business and opening a pop-up shop.

Mum-of-two Charlotte Heap has always loved clothes but was finding she couldn't buy exactly what she wanted locally so she opened her own business.

The 38-year-old named her business CJ's Fashion, launching an on-line business selling clothes and amassing nearly 1,000 followers.

And when the chance came to open a pop-up shop in Alsager, Charlotte jumped at the opportunity and hasn't ruled out opening her own premises one day.

CJ's Fashion is now in a space upstairs at Rose's Refills in Crewe Road, on the opposite side of the road to Alsager Civic.

"I've always loved clothes," said Charlotte, whose mum, Deborah Heap, is helping her to choose items for the business.

"I was finding I couldn't an outfit for under £50 for example so thought about starting my own business and it's gone from there.

"This is only my second week but it's going really well. I was finding customers were buying on-line and wanting to pick up from my home in Alsager.

"They can now come to the pop-up shop when we're here and we've got facilities to try on."

Charlotte, who was a service department manager with a car company for seven years before having her second child, is combining running the business with studying.

In the second year of an Education Studies degree at Staffordshire University, Charlotte fits the pop-up shop around lectures.

"I've named it CJ's Fashion as my name is Charlotte Jade. We stock a lot of Italian products. Everyone likes good clothes but it's often the price tag that comes with it.

"We're aiming at selling 'affordable fashion'. I have lectures on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursday morning so I'm working around that."

CJ's Fashion still has the on-line shop here.

Opening hours for the pop-up shop are Wednesdays 9.30 am – 2 pm, Thursdays 2 pm – 6 pm, Fridays 9.30 am – 3pm and Saturdays 9.30 am – 3.30 pm.
