Alsager Nub News wants to champion local businesses and celebrate our high street.
We write articles on new businesses or owners of pre-existing ones in our town, and want to see Alsager thrive.
So every so often, we shine a light on some opportunities that are for the taking.
And today, we profile a historic Alsager pub you can take over right now.
Situated in a quiet part of Crewe Road one mile south east of Alsager town centre, you will find The Old Mill.
Despite boasting a four star rating on Google Reviews and Tripadvisor, the pub, which dates back to the 1600s is no longer trading.
From an idyllic duck pond to hosting 11 bedrooms, the building is rife with potential, but is quite the task to restore as it was recently hit with natural disaster.
The pub has been flood damaged, not a surprise given the proximity the pub has to water, along with the building's age.
Once a flour mill for our town, The Old Mill stopped trading as a pub in March 2020 when COVID-19 lingered.
Now The Old Mill is fast-approaching three years without a pint being poured, no wedding reception in the function room, or a single meal served.
However, Cambridge estate agents Everard Cole are trying their best to get the property sold.
The vacant boozer is on the market for offers in the region of £375,000.
Other features include an untouched beer garden that seats 50, along with inheriting a popular Facebook page.
The three story pub was most recently refurbished in winter 2018.
It spans 5182 square feet.
The rateable value has been assest at £24,000.
You can find more information and make enquiries about the pub on this link.
There are also some cracking businesses up for sale in Sandbach, Congleton and Macclesfield right now.
