Alsager's best spots for beer lovers have been revealed.

The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) has published its 2027 Good Beer Guide.

It features two local bars Bod Alsager and The Lodge both in Crewe Road.

It says of The Lodge: "Titanic Brewery's bod Alsager is an award-winning conversion of a former solicitor's office into a modern cafe´-bar.

"Guest beers are available but Titanic ales dominate the six hand pumps as well as the taps on the wall behind the bar. There are brunch and pizza menus, and a counter displaying a variety of cakes and snacks."

Meanwhile The Lodge also in Crewe Road is described as a "warm and inviting".

"This local pub comprises a main bar, a snug with open fireplace, a room at the rear leading to a large conservatory that opens up in summer, and a beer garden.

"It offers a wide range of cask, craft keg, bottled continental, and alcohol-free beers. Tasty bar snacks including pork pies are served, and free cheese on Sundays. "

This year, data from the Guide shows:

· 137 breweries have closed, and only 57 new breweries have opened.

· There are 812 new entries in the 2027 Guide.

Ash Corbett-Collins, CAMRA Chairman, said: "The Good Beer Guide is fiercely independent, just like the brewers making the best beer. It is the result of the time and effort of our volunteers across the UK to find the pubs serving the best kept cask beer."
