Two Alsager children's day nurseries have won the Community Nursery of the Year category in the 19th National NMT Nursery Awards 2021.

Townhouse Day Nurseries, based in Alsager on Lawton Road and Audley Road are owned by Julie and Ian Lightley and are part of a small group of nurseries called The Village Nursery Group.

The nurseries were nominated for the Community Nursery of the Year Award by Emma Jones, operations director and former manager of both Townhouse nurseries.

They were nominated in recognition of the outstanding contributions the nurseries make to the Alsager community including remaining open throughout the national lockdown.

The National NMT Nursery Awards 2021 is an annual event organised by Nursery Management Today a business publication in the nursery sector.

The awards are designed to reward excellence in childcare and celebrate the very best people in the nursery sector.

Julie Lightley, Townhouse Day nurseries' director said: "With all the challenges everyone has experienced in the past couple of years, I am so proud that our team still managed to maintain these vital links to the community.

"Townhouse has always worked tirelessly to give children and families amazing experiences in our community and it's wonderful they have been recognized for this with such a prestigious national award."

Winners of the 19th National NMT Nursery Awards were presented with their trophies at a high-profile gala night in London.
