Three Alsager people and groups honoured in Cheshire East's sporting and community hero awards

Three Alsager organisations were finalists in the recent Everybody awards hosted by Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, paralympic athlete, DBE.

The awards recognised exceptional achievements of sporting and community heroes in Cheshire East during the past 18 months.

Alsager Swimming Club's Philip Balcombe was a finalist in the Coach of the Year finalist while Mark Sutton from Alsager Running Club was a finalist in the Volunteer of the Year category.

Meanwhile Townhouse Nursery in Alsager was a finalist in the Health and Well-being category.

Over 190 guests enjoyed the awards evening at Crewe Hall hosted by the Paralympic athlete with 16 Paralympic medals to her name and 13 world championship medals.
