Down the road, on the town's outskirts, Alsager's Manor House Hotel came up with something to whet the appetite of leisure lovers.
The Manor House unveiled its luxurious country spa garden complete with a hydrotherapy pool, a vitality pool, summer house and a potting shed sauna to name just a few of the thing included.
In October, the town's new high-end Asian cocktail bar and restaurant, The Vault in Lawton Road finally opened.
The social dining venue is housed in a converted bank, the town's former Barclays Bank.
For many though, the highlight of the year was the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations when the town partied until it dropped!

A town crier, face painter, dance group, balloon artist and stalls galore filled the space in front of Alsager Civic and fun was had by all.
But the late Monarch's wonderful memories aren't lost forever. Alsager residents can sit in style and watch the world go by – thanks to the late Queen and her Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Alsager Town Council decided to refurbish benches in front of Alsager Civic and place a plaque commemorating the great occasion.
