The British Legion's Alsager branch has released details of this weekend's Remembrance events.

Crowds will turn out to the annual event held to commemorate the contribution of military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts.

A Social Media post by the Royal British Legion's Alsager branch says: "There will be a wreath laying ceremony and Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial in Sandbach Road South, starting at 2.40 pm on Sunday.

"The youth groups will be drawn up immediately in front of the Memorial, leaving spaces for those laying wreaths to pass through.

"After the ceremony, the parade will reform and march to St Mary's Church in Crewe Road for the Remembrance service starting at 3 pm.

"Members of the branch will also hold the traditional Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial in Sandbach Road South at 11 am on Saturday, 11th November (Armistice Day).
