Alsager Civic is set to be alive with the sound of music at a star-studded event to raise money for Alsager Dementia Friendly Community.

Chair of Alsager Town Council, Councillor Philip Williams, nominated the charity as one of the organisations he would raise money for during his year in office.

And on October 14th, he is holding a charity night featuring a show stopping line-up of entertainment.

There will be 1960s music from the renowned singer Vicky Gotham, of The Sweethearts, and a set by the popular reed-instrument ensemble, The Reed Warblers.

There will be a bar, a light buffet and raffle prizes. Tickets are £5 and available from Alsager Civic (cash only) in advance by phoning 01270 879711 or on the door.

Alsager Dementia Friendly Community is supported by Alsager Partnership.

Councillor Williams said: "It promises to be a great evening with entertainment from some talented performers.

"There will be some lovely raffle prizes and the proceeds will go to an initiative that is doing great work in our community."

Through its work with the Memory Cafe, its engagement with carers, local businesses and Alsager School where students have provided significant and innovative input, the Dementia Friendly project is making a real difference.

"Come and enjoy a convivial evening and support a very worthwhile initiative."

Alsager has a Memory Café on the last Friday of the month 10.30am – 12.30pm at Alsager library. Entrance is free.
