A service to officially appoint the new vicar of c in Crewe Road and St Philip's Church at Hassall Green near Sandbach has taken place.

Worshippers gathered at St Mary's Church on Monday night (20 July) to see the Rev Joe Smith officially take up his place.

A church spokesperson said: "We are beyond excited to welcome Joe as our new vicar at St Mary's and St Philip's. We would love to welcome you all to meet him. Please do join us at one of our churches."

The Rev Smith has come to the area after serving as a Priest at St John the Baptist, Cardiff and Chaplain to Cardiff University.
