An Alsager dental practice has been praised in the latest Care Quality Commission (CQC) visit.

The CQC said Lawton Dental Practice, owned and run by Dr Matt Gilks, met all the regulations and is a safe, effective, caring responsive and well-led practice.

And patients also commented that it is an "outstanding practice" which "always goes above and beyond".

The CQC report here said the practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control.

It said: "Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required."

The report added: "Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness. Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed.

"Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care.

"The team take time to explain any treatment that may be needed, giving you space to ask questions and really teach you what you need to know to effectively look after your teeth at home."

"Patients said when they were prescribed medicines, sufficient information was given. Patients told us that they were supported to maintain their oral health and were provided with appropriate information and resources. They are clinical with their work but personal with their interaction."

One patient said: "Lawton Dental always go above and beyond. Nothing is too much trouble, all questions answered. Always all staff are friendly and approachable."

Another commented: "Lawton Dental Care I believe is an outstanding practice. The team show you how a professional yet personal dental practice operates so effectively.

"The impact of this can really start to undo the fear that has been built up over years of traumatic and poorly run dental work."
