Meet Jo: the new manager at Twyford House Care Home, setting a high bar for care and leadership
By The Editor 27th Jul 2026
Most people score one or two distinctions when studying for a qualification but not Jo Hassey - she scored an incredible 24 in her Level 5 in Management qualification.
A total of 24 distinctions is the maximum amount any one person can earn, and Jo did exactly that - achieving the highest score possible.
Now Jo is flying high in her role as the new manager of Twyford House Care Home, a luxury care home in Richard Woodcock Way, a position she's loving.
When Jo started working for Lovett Care as a Deputy Manager Jo was first drawn to the fast-paced and supportive environment at Lovett Care, owners of Twyford House Care Home.
It was in this role where she developed a solid foundation in leadership and day-to-day operational management within a care home setting.
"What attracted me to Lovett was the clear commitment to high standards of care and the opportunity to be part of a growing organisation that genuinely invests in both its residents and its staff," said Jo.
"I wanted to work somewhere that values quality, continuous improvement, and strong leadership, and Lovett offered that.
"Lovett Care stood out to me as a company where progression is encouraged and recognised."

Moving into the Home Manager role was a natural progression for Jo. As a deputy, she was already heavily involved in the running of the home, supporting staff, ensuring compliance, and working closely with residents and families.
"I wanted the opportunity to step up, take full accountability, and really drive improvements across the service."
She added: "The qualification deepened my knowledge around leadership, governance, safeguarding, and person-centred care, and I've been able to apply that learning directly into my role.
"It also reinforced my belief in continuous professional development, there's always more to learn, and it makes a real difference to the quality of care we provide."
Jo loves working for Lovett Care and says anyone looking for a job within the group should grab the chance if a vacancy comes up. "My advice would be to go for it," she said.
