Thursday, 20 August
Do you have children and fancy some summer fun? Castaway Play in Astbury has a fantastic offer - a summer pass valid until 1 September. You can use it as many times as you like between until 1 September and use code 'NUBNEWS' for 10 per cent off. More details here

The Linley Tavern has its weekly quiz night at 8pm. £1 to play!

The Lawton Arms in Church Lawton has its Thursday poker night from 8 pm until 11 pm. All welcome!

Alsager Jazz Club is at the Thirteen club with its weekly session. This week's will feature an evening of Parisian 'Hot Club' style jazz featuring talented BBC Philharmonic musicians Julian Gregory, Matthew Compton and a trio lead by Paul Hartley.
Julian Gregory is a violinist of rare skill and versatility. A long-standing member of the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Julian's remarkable musicianship and command of multiple styles have made him one of the most admired performers of his generation.
His playing, rooted in the spirit of Stéphane Grappelli, bursts with energy, spontaneity and a sense of joy that lights up the room.
The club takes place from 8 pm until 10 pm and costs £10 on the door.

Friday, 22 August
Writing with a Purpose's Anna Anna Woolliscroft has her monthly journalling circle at Hub & Health in Crewe Road at 4 pm. It lasts for 60 minutes and costs £10 per session. It's limited to 12 participants. More details on her website here
Saturday, 23 August
The Mere Inn has a daytime disco, " The Mere Rewind" from 3 pm. Think Indie with a soundtrack of old-school summer tunes to see you through the afternoon. The as the sun goes down, the Duo Brothers take over with a night of 90s indie anthems.

In the evening, the Thirteen Club in Cedar Avenue has a Nashville evening. Members £8 guests £10.
