Meet the local business ensuring the cream of the crop is fresh on your doorstep

By Deborah Bowyer   21st Dec 2025

Imagine pouring milk on to your morning cereal knowing it's come straight from an award-winning local dairy just hours before?

Dairy delivery owner, Lee Payne, of Cow to Cup, prides himself on providing the cream of crop when it comes to milk and fresh produce.

And that's easy to see when you see the dairy flock and milk production at Bidlea Dairy at Orchard Farm near Holmes Chapel where the Kidsgrove businessman's milk and cheese comes from.

All of Lee's produce for his Cow to Cup business based in the Alsager area comes from local farms which he carefully selects for freshness and quality.

"I've been in the business a long time and pride myself on knowing the milk and other produce I deliver is fully traceable. I know exactly where it comes from," said 62-year-old Lee.

"All our produce comes from local farms and is fresh. We deliver through the night so it's ready for customers on their doorstep when they wake up.

"What could be better than pouring Bidlea Dairy milk on to your morning cereal or drinking a glass of milk knowing it was milked from cows grazing in the Cheshire countryside.

"You can taste the difference. Many of my customers buy from me because they want to give their children the best. They always say how much they like the fact it's come from a local farm."

Lee has been in the dairy delivery industry for 30 years or so and travels to Bidlea Dairy in four nights a week to collect his fresh produce ready to go out on his rounds.

"We deliver have weekly deliveries on certain days. Our areas include Rode Heath, Alsager, Scholar Green and Kidsgrove as well as Sandbach and other towns depending on the day."

'Cow to Cup' not only delivers fresh produce but customers, of which there are over 300 and growing steadily, also benefit from saving time going to the supermarket and also lowering the carbon footprint.

Lee added: "There can be nothing better than waking up to fresh milk and your shopping on the doorstep."

And it's not just milk and cheese which Cow To Cup delivers - the offering includes everything from bread, fruit juice, eggs, fruit and vegetables and even meat.

"Meat is delivered in a cool bag packed in ice. It comes from Glebe farm and we offer everything from sirloin steaks to bacon, sausages, beef mince to chicken breast and a breakfast bundle."
