Looking for an adventurous holiday without the overwhelm?

This Sunday (25 January), Alsager's much-loved Home Coffee Shop in Lawton Road will be hosting something a little different alongside its usual great coffee and relaxed atmosphere.

Local travel specialist Sara Dickenson of Fifth Element Travel will be popping up in the café in Lawton Road for a morning of informal travel chats – this week with a focus on adventure holidays, for families, couples and solo travellers alike.

For many people, the idea of an adventure holiday is appealing, but also slightly daunting. From navigating unfamiliar destinations to figuring out where to start, it's often the planning that puts people off before they've even booked anything.

That's where Sara comes in.

"I meet a lot of people who say they want something a bit more adventurous, but don't have the time, confidence or headspace to plan it properly," Sara explains.

"They might be thinking about somewhere like Thailand, or they might want to explore somewhere less well-trodden – but they're not sure what would really suit them."

Sunday's pop-up is designed to change that.

There are no sales desks and no pressure to book. Instead, visitors can drop in, grab a coffee, and have a relaxed conversation about travel – whether that's a family adventure, a couple's trip, or a solo journey that pushes comfort zones just enough.

Sara's approach is very much anti tick-list. Rather than focusing on how many places you can see, she designs trips around how people want to feel – excited, connected, confident, rested – and plans every holiday with the same care and attention as if she were going herself.

"For some people, adventure might mean elephants and street food in Thailand," she says. "For others, it might be wildlife, hiking, culture or simply doing something that feels different from their usual holidays. Adventure doesn't have to mean extreme – it just has to feel meaningful."

The pop-ups at Home Coffee Shop have already proven popular with locals who appreciate the chance to talk travel in a familiar, informal setting. It's particularly appealing to busy families and professionals who want expert guidance without the overwhelm of endless online research.

As a local Travel Counsellor, Sara also offers reassurance that many people are looking for. Bookings benefit from Travel Counsellors' financial protection, and clients know they have a real person to turn to if plans change or things don't go smoothly.

"If someone leaves feeling inspired, clearer about what's possible, or even just excited about travel again – that's a great outcome," Sara says. "It's about opening the door to experiences people might not have thought were achievable."

If you're curious about adventure holidays — whether you're ready to dive in or just want to dip a toe — Sara will be at Home Coffee Shop, Alsager, this Sunday (25 January), chatting travel over coffee and helping make sense of the possibilities.
