Local travel expert jets off to India's Golden Triangle and Kerala and wants the town to follow along
By Guest author 17th Sep 2026
Alsager-based independent Travel Counsellor Sara Dickenson is swapping her desk for two weeks on the road in India and she's inviting the town to come along for the ride, virtually at least.
Sara, who many locals will already know for her straight-talking holiday advice, is doing a two-part trip: first India's famous Golden Triangle, taking in Delhi, a tiger safari in Ranthambhore, the palaces of Jaipur and a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal, before heading south to Kerala for the backwaters, a night aboard a traditional houseboat, and the tea-covered hills of Munnar.

"India is already a popular destination for Alsager residents," said Sara. "It's got this brilliant mix of adventure, incredible culture and a little luxury, all in the same trip, and it works whether you're after wildlife and forts or slower, more relaxed days by the water.
"I'm not surprised that so many more people have India on their bucket list."
The trip isn't a holiday for Sara, it's research. She'll be inspecting hotels and experiences in person, from heritage havelis to luxury safari camps, so she can build tailored itineraries from direct experience for her clients.
Sara will be posting regular updates from the road on Instagram and Facebook, from the tiger safari to the Taj Mahal at sunrise, so local residents who've ever thought about a trip to India can follow along.

"If India's ever crossed your mind, even as a 'maybe one day', come and follow along," Sara added. "And if you want the full breakdown once I'm back, wonderful itineraries, the best hotels, what worked, what experiences I'd recommend, that's going in an email I'm sending out to my mailing list. It's the easiest way to get the whole trip without having to scroll back through two weeks of stories."
