The nights are getting lighter and the days are brighter which only means one thing - Spring is here and Easter and summer are just around the corner.

Alsager Civic, whose website is here, always has an impressive line-up of events but the coming season sees a few highlights which make it spectacular.

Spring is always a great time to get out and about and with warmer, longer nights it's a great time to soak up a live show, listen to some live music or watch a comedy act.

Summer holidays are also just around the corner and there's a great event coming up which is guaranteed to get us in the party mood and ready to soak up the sun but before that there's a chance to make some cash.

Looking to get ahead for your holidays, why not book a table at the indoor car boot sale on Sunday, May 4th and make some cash?

Is your living room full to the brim of children's toys after Christmas or is your wardrobe bursting at the seams? Why not have a spring sort out and book a table at the indoor car boot? Tables cost just £10.

You won't have to brace the freezing cold or have an early start either as the event takes place from 10 am until 1 pm. Just ring 01270 879711 or email [email protected] to book a table. If you've nothing to sell, don't forget to go along and grab yourself a bargain!

On Friday May 16th, local legend Mr Bigz Flavours will not only be spinning his tunes but also serving up some of his delicious food for which he has built up an enviable reputation at his Alsager restaurant 'Mr Bigz Flavours' in Crewe Road. Tickets are available here

The 'Old Skool R&B Night' at Alsager Civic will feature a collection of legendary tunes being spun by Mr Bigz aka Martin Mwale who is both a DJ and restaurant owner.

Keeping several plates spinning (not literally!) is something which comes naturally to Mr Bigz whose Afro-Caribbean restaurant has a legendary following as we revealed in our previous article here

Tickets, available here cost just £10 and food is available to buy on top of this. Just ring 01270 879711 or email [email protected]

Alsager Civic administrator, Lizzie Hackworthy said: "Alsager Civic is hoping everyone has a great Spring and summer. Take a look at our events and come along!"

Further information and details are available by phoning 01270 879711 or emailing [email protected]

On June 13th, Alsager Civic Comedy Club is back with another evening of fun and laughter. Tickets sell out fast, so don't miss out! Cheeseboards available to buy through Alsager Civic directly.

Comedy returns to Alsager this June with Mick Ferry ("See him or regret it"- John Bishop, "Absolute legend"- Jason Manford), Steve Royle ("A brilliant comedian"- Peter Kay), Amit Mistry and MC Karen Bayley ("Gales of laughter"- British Comedy Guide) all at Alsager Civic.

Few are funnier than Comedy Store and Frog & Bucket veteran Mick Ferry! Whether he's running with a scatterbrained idea, an audience suggestion or dipping into his extensive mental files of absolute, top drawer gags and routines, the end result is a barrage of laughter from a very happy audience and that is what we are all about.

Tickets costs £15 each and you can also buy a cheeseboard online too or in person from the Alsager Civic office - small for two people (£12) and large for four people (£24). Tickets are available here
