Slimming World: Thank you to the local businesses and people of Alsager

Local weight-loss expert, Linsey, runs a Slimming World group in Alsager and during the past 15 months she has had to close her doors.

During this time, like many people across the country, she has taken to the virtual world instead.

As Covid restrictions have started to lift she has been able to reopen her real-life doors again, supporting over 100 people in Alsager to manage their weight each week.

She says: "Lockdown has had an effect on all of us - turning our lives upside down, disrupting our routines and making us feel more anxious.

"We worry about our own health and the health of loved ones. Unsurprisingly, this has had an effect on our choices around food, drink and activity.

"I know that I've had days when I've found it difficult to stay motivated, and that's completely okay - we're only human.

"When my members made healthy behaviour changes prior to lockdown, little did they know this would give them the tools to cope during this challenging time.

"Those changes have helped to support them to continue to successfully lose or maintain weight loss."

Linsey has been "so excited" to get back to her real-life group and see everyone again, with only minor changes to ensure they are Covid safe.

Linsey added: "There's no better place to help you get back in control than a real-life Slimming World group, where there is absolutely no judgement about any weight gained during lockdown.

"There is just understanding, trust, friendship, community spirit and lots of fun and laughter.

"And if it wasn't for the local businesses and people in Alsager supporting myself, Julie and Sarah, who have been putting up posters and banners in the local area, we might not have been able to reopen, so thank you."

Linsey runs groups on Tuesday morning and afternoons at the Alsager Community Church call 07786 681693.

Julie runs a group on Monday afternoon at Rode Heath YPCC call 07739 093705.

Sarah runs a group on Saturday at Alsager Community Church call 07899 694959.
