Several pupils from two year groups at Alsager School have been told to self-isolate following two cases of Covid-19.

The Hassall Road school revealed yesterday (Sunday) it had written to pupils who will now have to stay at home.

A spokesperson for Alsager School said: "We have had a confirmed case of Covid-19 in Year 9. A letter has been sent to all those students who are to self-isolate. Please check your emails."

However, the secondary school has since confirmed this morning (Monday) that all Year 7 pupils will be working from home due to a confirmed coronavirus case.

The spokesperson added: "We have been informed of a positive COVID case in Year 7. All Year 7 students must stay at home today."
