A pub in a village near Alsager looks set to be reopening and having a makeover.

The Royal Oak in Rode Heath has been closed for a while but Star Pubs & Bars has announced it is planning a refurbishment.

The company, the pub business of Heineken UK, has advertised the Sandbach Road pub on its list of pubs available to be leased.

A sign has been put up the outside on the railings of the fenced off pub to show how it could look.

Star Pubs & Bars say: "The Royal Oak will receive a full refurbishment throughout. The pub will boast additional kerb appeal with a full external redecoration to match the internal feel.

"A new seating area will be added to the front of the pub, while the rear area will be transformed with a stunning new patio area, linking the pub to the great garden space."

Star Pubs & Bars describe the Royal Oak as a "fantastic village pub".

"The Royal Oak is a village pub adored by locals and is the perfect community destination," they say on their website.

"The site has a fantastic, prominent position in the lovely canal-side village of Rode Heath, en-route to Sandbach and Congleton.

"There is a great opportunity to deliver a high-quality premium local with full refurbishment throughout."
