Road closures announced as preparations in full swing for this year's Alsager Carnival

Alsager's annual carnival, a big event for the town, takes place on Saturday, June 7th and this year the theme is kids' TV.

Floats and organisations will be decorated and dressed up as characters from all the populat TV childrens' shows in the fundraising event organised by Alsager Round Table.

Every year, the event raise hundreds of pounds for various groups and charities in the town.

A spokesperson for Alsager Round Table said: "We're expecting a very colourful parade to leave Fairview car parl at 12 noon and tour the town before an afternoon of fun and entertainment in Milton Park from 1 pm.

"Now's the time to get involved."

The Round Table has set up two websites for information - one for float enquiries [email protected] and general enquiries [email protected]

Meanwhile Alsager Town Council has released details of road closures.

The following roads will be closed from 11.30 am to 1.30 pm on Saturday 7th June "or for such less time as is necessary to enable the event to take place : 

CREWE ROAD, ALSAGER

From the junction with Lawton Road to the junction with Church Road

CHURCH ROAD, ALSAGER

From the junction with Crewe Road to the junction with Lodge Road

LODGE ROAD, ALSAGER

For its full extent

SANDBACH ROAD NORTH, ALSAGER

From the junction with The Fairway to the junction with Lawton Road

LAWTON ROAD, ALSAGER

From the junction with Crewe Road to the junction with Fields Road
