Roses are red, violets are blue and love was certainly in the air on Valentine's Day at an Alsager person-centred home for adults.

Twyford House in Alsager celebrated the big day in style by displaying roses galore around the Richard Woodcock Way home.

But it wasn't just a floral tribute to cupid – the happy residents at the vibrant home, part of the Lovett Care group, shared their pearls of wisdom on a successful marriage.

What is the secret of a long and happy marriage? One 90 year old resident believes the key is to "be honest, look after each other and let each other know you love each other".

Another in her 80s believed we should "be tolerant of each other" while a 91 year old says "enjoy every bit of life together".

Whatever the secret is, Alsager Nub News wishes Twyford House and its residents a long and happy life.
