Children at Rode Heath Primary School are set to benefit - thanks to the amazing talents of an accomplished Rode Heath artist whose work hangs in the private collection of King Charles.

Rob Pointon, who moved to Rode Heath in 2020, has painted various scenes in the village and has published a Rode Heath calendar for 2027, which is on sale at the village store, Bargain Booze.

And £5 from every calendar sold at the shop, run by Jenny Baty, will go to Rode Heath Primary School Parent Teacher and Friend Association (PTFA) of which Rob and his wife Karen are members of.

Rob said: "Our daughter Sophie goes the school so we thought we would do something to help. Rode Heath is an inspirational place to live. The ability to go out on to the canal means I have the chance to paint lots of canal scenes.

"The calendar also features incidental scenes featuring aqueducts and bridges and one with tractor tracks after the rain one day.

"It's great to fund something like the PTFA and see direct results and how it impacts the children at the school. So many of the scenes have a kind of personal feeling and include emotion of what's happening on the day."

Rob's work is second-to none. He has painted at many royal events, including the Trooping of the Colour, and scenes paint in Manchester feature in an outdoor exhibition on the streets of Spinningfields as we revealed here .

Jenny Baty Creamer, who has lived in the village for the last eight years, taking over Bargain Booze last May said: "Rob is a real asset to the village. His work is superb and we're delighted to be selling his Rode Heath calendars priced at £22.50.

"It raises local awareness and helps good causes. We're also giving some money to the local church as well to help them with Christmas activities.

"Rob and his wife come into the shop and it's nice to be able to have his work on display here."
