A village near Alsager now has a new pop-up coffee bar - thanks to an enterprising local woman.

Jenny Baty took over Bargain Booze in Rode Heath in May and has now launched an outside coffee shop to add to her growing empire.

The mobile coffee shop is aptly called 'One for the Rode' - a play on the nearby historic Rode Hall which is nearby - and even has a seating area next door.

And Jenny now has plans to include a little cafe area inside her shop in Sandbach Road when she carries out refurbishment.

"When the previous man of Bargain Booze decided to retire I stepped forward to take it over. It's a great village and I wanted to save the shop for the local community," said Jenny who moved to the village six years ago from Knutsford.

"The coffee pop-up shop is the latest addition. I love coffee and have always wanted to run a coffee shop. It's important for the village to have amenities like this."

Jenny who has run pubs in London and worked in marketing before taking on her new venture, says she's hoping boaters on the nearby Trent and Mersey canal will become customers.

She added: "It's a great little amenity for everyone. I have chosen to use coffee from a business called 'Crave' near Tarporley. The shop and coffee business has provided jobs which is great for the local area too."

Jenny has a team of people helping her run the business who live in the village and unsurprisingly, the coffee addition has been welcomed by the village.

"People are saying how much they love the coffee and the smell of it. We're also launching milkshakes and we have a range of sweet treats and sell puppucinos for dogs. Come and give us a try," said Jayne Wilson who works with Jenny.
