Police appeal for witnesses following serious collision in Barthomley

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Barthomley near Alsager. 

At 10.58pm on Saturday(June 8th) police were called to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Radway Green Road, Barthomley. 

The pedestrian, a 40-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains in a poorly condition. 

The driver, a 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries. 

Inspector Steve Griffiths said: "We'd urge anyone who was in the area and witnessed the collision but has not yet spoken to police to contact us. The same goes for anyone who has dashcam or other footage of the collision."
